If you’re a fan of knights in shining armors, dark gowns, jugglers, noblemen, swords, archers, peasants, and wood carvings and you know the typical Medieval stuff, then visit Volterra (Italy) on the second or third Sunday of August, for the Volterra Medieval Festival.

On these two days, Volterra time travels to the 14th century to celebrate what the city was like back then. How the people dressed, what they ate, what they made – you’ll get a glimpse of it all! But you might even get to see a knight talking on his phone, as the modern man can’t stay away from his sophisticated gadgets for too long.
