A VICTORY TOWER

Since the Qutb Minar is one of the most famous landmarks in Delhi, the Mysticals decided to see it first. At a height of 72.5 m, it is the tallest brick minaret in the world! When Qutbuddin Aibak defeated the Hindu Rajput King Prithviraj Chauhan at the 1192 Battle of Tarain, he had the Qutb Minar erected as his victory tower.

The exterior of this tower has various horizontal bands with verses from the Holy Quran engraved on them. The first three stories are built using red sandstone. Most of the fourth story is built with white marble, and red sandstone is used as embellishment.
Verum added, “My favorite one is the fifth story. It has an almost equal amount of both red sandstone and white marble!”

The four were mesmerized by how much work had been done on the tower, that too, by human hands without modern machinery!
