INDIA SENDS MEDS TO AFGHANISTAN

“Here we are!” said Scorch uproariously as the Mysticals appeared inside an airplane.

“Okay, but what are we doing here?” said Felix, hovering slightly above the ground. He added, “Or rather where are we? The lights are off. I can’t really see much.”

“We are inside an airplane, Felix! Were you dozing off when we made the entire plan?” said Orak.

“That is possible,” said Felix sheepishly.

As his eyes got accustomed to the dark, Felix realized he was in that part of the airplane where cargo is stored. He asked, “Oh, I see boxes and boxes, cartons and cartons. But what do they contain?”

“These are boxes filled with 1.6 tonnes of life-saving medicines for children. India is sending them to Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital. Last Friday, this special charter flight flew from Kabul, Afghanistan to New Delhi, India, carrying 104 people, most of them were Afghan Sikhs or Hindus,” said Verum,

The Taliban, an extremist group, took over Afghanistan once again in August 2021 after US President Joe Biden started the process of withdrawing US troops from the war-torn country. The Taliban is known for rigid governance and strict laws, especially against women. That’s why many people are choosing to leave Afghanistan.

“The flight returned to Kabul loaded with these medicines. They will be provided to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health in Kabul. It’s the main children’s hospital in the capital,” said Verum, “After the Taliban took over, the country has been going through a food crisis. Many children are falling sick because of this.”

“And the medication will help them!” said Scorch, “This  is a nice gesture on India’s part.”
