LEONARDO DA VINCI’S MILAN

“I hear many people talking about Leonardo da Vinci, here in Milan. Why is that?” said Felix.

“Well, da Vinci has played an important role in the development of Milan, Felix. He was born in Tuscany, Italy, in 1452, and grew up to be a Renaissance artist, architect, military engineer, and inventor well-known for his Mona Lisa painting and flying machine invention,” said Orak.

Verum added, “Around 1495, then the Duke of Milan, Ludovico Sforza, asked da Vinci to paint ‘The Last Supper’ on the back wall of the dining hall inside the monastery of Milan’s Santa Maria delle Grazie.

It took him about three years to finish it! Da Vinci was also employed by the Sforza clan as an architecture and military engineering advisor. Research says that he also helped plan the renovation of Milan’s canals.”

Felix and Scorch were amazed by how da Vinci could be extremely creative and intellectual at the same time.
