OCEAN CLEANUP GETS HUGE DONATION

Felix was sitting with a serious face. Seeing Felix, Scorch said, “What’s with you today?”

“I visited some beaches and found them littered with plastic. We must keep our environment clean, and seeing so much filth made me upset,” said Felix.

“I have good news for you, Felix,” said an excited Scorch, “A Dutch organization, The Ocean Cleanup, has come up with an amazing idea to gather plastic from the sea. They are employed at the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (GPGP), between Hawaii and California.”

“That’s wonderful!” exclaimed Felix, “How much plastic have they removed so far?”

“The initiative began in 2021, and they have removed 200,000 kilograms of plastic so far. It is a cost-effective cleaning system as well.

Seeing this brilliant initiative, the co-founder of Airbnb (rental company) donated 25 million dollars to help them scale greater heights,” Scorch informed.“How generous! How did they take out the plastic?” asked Felix.

Scorch answered, “The Ocean Cleanup founder Boyan Slat came up with plans where they use huge strong nets to gather the plastic and dump them in a container.”

“That is a smart move! I’m hoping for a plastic-free ocean soon,” remarked Felix. Scorch smiled, made a fireball, and threw it in the air.
