HISTORY OF A FRENCH PALACE

The Mysticals visited the royal Palais du Luxembourg today. It was built in 1625 for Queen Marie of Médicis. Once the French Revolution phase set in, it was turned into a prison. Then, in 1800, under the rule of Napoléon Bonaparte, the palace was transformed into an office of senators.
Years later, in 1958, Charles de Gaulle formed the Fifth Republic and the Senate we know today. Almost 321 senators gather here to chew over written laws and do other super important work.
However, the Mysticals spent most of their time playing in the Luxembourg Gardens; they were created on request by Queen Marie in 1612. There is an orchard, an apiary to teach you cool stuff about bee-keeping, a variety of old apples, a rose garden, and greenhouses with a collection of charming orchids.
