NADAL, DJOKO MISS MADRID OPEN

“It’s unfortunate to see top players suffering with injuries and missing games,” said Scorch as she strolled with Felix in his beautiful garden.

Felix said, “Are you talking about tennis? I overheard other Mysticals at school talk about some tennis players.”

“Yes,” replied Scorch, “Rafael Nadal got injured while playing a Grand Slam (a prestigious game in tennis) in January. Since then, he has been undergoing treatment. Nadal is a 22-time Grand Slam champion.

Nadal missed the ongoing Madrid Open. Madrid Open is a professional tennis tournament held every year around this time in Madrid, Spain. He is unsure if he will be fit for the upcoming May French Open either.

Novak Djokovic, the current World No. 1 in tennis, also missed the Madrid Open owing to an elbow injury. Djokovic is also a 22-time Grand Slam champion.

Verum told me just hours before her match on Wednesday even the British No. 1 tennis player, Emma Raducanu, withdrew due to a hand injury.”

“Oh, no! So, no players are there at the game!” Felix thought in his unique way.

“Not at all,” laughed Scorch, “There are the younger tennis players who will compete. Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune, Iga Swiatek, Andrey Rublev, Jannik Sinner, and more are winning many games.

The era of Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer is slowly being replaced by young, energetic, and passionate players. The most-awaited Grand Slam is the French Open in May. We should watch it together.”
