MAN CITY, DJOKO, AUSSIES MAKE HISTORY

“Mysticals,” announced Scorch, “I am overwhelmed with three outstanding achievements and records made in sports last week. Verum, can you make my favourite chocolate shake? I’m definitely going to be breathless once I finish!”

Verum happily nodded and Scorch began at once, “Manchester City (a football club) became the first English club to claim a treble since 1999, when its rival English club, Manchester United, had claimed it.

Treble means winning three championships in one season. Manchester City won the Champions League, Premier League, and the FA Cup in one season.

Next up is tennis news! The World No. 1, Novak Djokovic, won the Roland Garros title. Four Grand Slams (Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, US Open) happen annually in tennis. Djokovic’s win took him to the No. 1 spot of most Grand Slams (23), followed by Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.”

“That’s awesome! I’m so happy for Man City,” Felix couldn’t hide his excitement, “I respect Djokovic for his great sportsmanship and humour. He’s a wonderful human being.”

“There’s one more, Felix!” exclaimed Scorch, “Australian cricket team became the first team in the world to win all three ICC (International Cricket Council) titles. Australia won the first-ever 50-over World Cup in 1987 and the 20-over Champions Trophy in 2006. Recently, the Baggy Greens (a green colour cricket cap worn by the Australian cricket team) defeated India to win the first-ever World Test Championship.”

Orak and Felix cried, “Triple crown!” Scorch and Verum were speechless, hearing Orak and Felix react in chorus.

“You must be tired, right? Here’s your drink!” Verum giggled and gave her the chocolate shake. Scorch nodded and thanked her with a big smile.
